About this trip

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the most adventurous trekking trails located in the Manaslu region.

The major attractions of the trek are natural and cultural diversities of the remote Himalayan region. The trek mainly provides an opportunity to explore the majestic height and exceptional views of the glorious Mt. Manaslu (8163 m) – the world’s eighth highest mountain along with other Himalayas like Hiunchuli, Ganesh Himal, Annapurna-II, and Himlung Himal.

The trail is also famous for its magnificent Larkya pass at 5100 m and its emergence onto the Marshyangdi river valley. In addition, the low-to-high range of altitudes present diverse flora and fauna and mostly a wide cultural spectrum which includes strong influences from Tibet mixing with typical and diverse Nepalese culture and ethnicity.

After making a brief climb to Kyoropani, you will descend once again to the river that is at the confluence with the tributary of Sundi Khola.

It will be a nice first day, not too long, and perhaps you will have time for a refreshing swim sometime during the day, as it will be hot in the lower part of the country.

Trek to Jagat

From Machha Khola, with the rising altitude, the trek will get intense. However, the trail will offer you some recess in between with hot springs and lush green forests full of endangered species.

The vegetation also changes with every few hundred meters of rising altitude which makes for a unique trekking experience.

Trek to Deng

Leaving Jagat, you will descend a long series of stone steps to the river and then climb a terraced hill to Saguleri, from where one can see the impressive Sringi Himal (7187 m).

The path then splits, with the right-hand branch heading towards the Ganesh Himal while crossing the river at Gata Khola.

The trail then continues upstream, through a gorge with towering walls.
