This is a day hike starting from the Chapagaun V.D.C in Patan. It’s 3 hours of a hike through paddy fields and suburban villages. The Highest point is located at 1550 m from sea level, which offers the complete view of the Kathmandu valley also visible are the three famous peaks Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and Manaslu. This trail passes through Tamang village where people still follow a traditional lifestyle. About 70% of the walk passes through pine forest filled with Rhododendron trees and various collections of wildflowers. The walk ends at the Botanical garden of Godavari where you can observe various species of rare plants and flowers found in Nepal. The forest above the botanical garden is famous for bird watching, it also offers as a migratory passage for birds flying in and out of the Kathmandu valley. Overall more than 350 species of birds are recorded in this area. You can choose to spend the whole day exploring the botanical garden along with your hike.
