About this trip

Nuwakot district is located to the northwest of Kathmandu, The name, Nuwakot, is made up of two words ‘nawa’ and ‘kort’. Nawa means nine in Nepali and ‘kort’ means sacred religious site at the top of hill. Nuwakot Durbar is one the historical sites in Nepal which embraces the glorious historical stories of the past.

The palace is also known as Saat Talle Durbar meaning seven storied palace overlooking the valley.This palace was built by Prithivi Narayan Shah who is the founder of Nepal. This palace functioned as his aid campaign during conquering Kathmandu. The artisans and architects were hired from Patan to establish this architecturally beautiful palace.

You can visit this beautiful palace/fort from the Pasang Lhamu Highway travelling from Kathmandu. The fort stands as perfect place to explore the magnificent architecture of the palace and natural splendor of the Nuwakot district. The Newari village surrounding the palace offers great cultural and religious experience to explore. The palace was transformed into museum in April 2011.

Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our Travel Devisers’ representative and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your designed hotel. The representative will help you check into your hotel.

Sightseeing around Kathmandu

Kathmandu Valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors.

The valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influences.

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be guided to visit 3 renowned Buddhist and Hindu temples: Pashupatinath, Bouddha Stupa, and Swayambhunath.

After lunch, you will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.

Drive to Nuwakot

Today you will be driven to Nuwakot located 70 km west of Kathmandu, it take around 3 hours by road.

Along the way you can explore the scenic views on the national highway. En route you will visit Kakani famous hill station to view Himalayan ranges and the scenery of Kathmandu Valley along with other hills.

Upon arrival at Nuwakot and after checking into the hotel, you can go for evening walk around the surrounding villages near the resort.

Sightseeing and Hike around Nuwakot Durbar Square

After having breakfast, you will take a tour around the historic Nuwakot Durbar Square. You will see Saat tale Durbar (seven storied palace), Bhairabi Temple, Taleju Temple etc.

After having lunch, you will hike around the rural village where you can see the village lifestyle and settlements of the people of there.

Drive back to Kathmandu/Half - day sightseeing around Bhaktapur

After having breakfast, you will be driven back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you will visit Bhaktapur durbar square and Changunarayan Temple.

Departure

After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the international airport for your flight home.
