About this trip

Located in Western Nepal, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an exceptional nature friendly trek trails.

This trail in its geographic diversity includes breath-taking landscape and panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of the great Himalayas such as Annapurna-I(8091 m), Annapurna-II (7937m), Annapurna-III (7555 m), Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Machhapuchhre (6998 m), and Gangapurna. The landscape has more to offer with its scenic riverbanks and picturesque forest valley.

Located on the way are Hindu and Buddhists temples and a combination of traditional and cultural villages of ethnic communities of the Magar, Gurung, Ghale, and Thakali along with their hospitality.

The welcoming smiles of locals, scenic beauty, terraced landscape, snow-capped mountains, and religious sites make this trek a memorable experience for lifetime.

Arrive at Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our Travel Devisers’ representative and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your designed hotel. The representative will help you check into your hotel.

At the hotel, you will be briefed about your daily activities.

Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu Valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors.

The valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influences.

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be guided to visit 3 renowned Buddhist and Hindu temples: Pashupatinath, Bouddha Stupa, and Swayambhunath.

After lunch, you will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.

Fly/ drive to Pokhara and drive to Phedi, trek to Dhampus

This day will mark the beginning of your trek.

Early morning after breakfast you will be driven to Pokhara city, 200 km west from Kathmandu. It takes 5-6 hours on a tourist vehicle or fly to Pokhara (20 minutes).

You will pass through scenic forests, deep gorges and Nepali villages on your way to the destination.

Upon arrival in Pokhara we will take a short 1-hour drive to Phedi where the trek will begin. After 2 hours of hiking you will reach Dhampus.

Trek to Landrung

At an early morning sunrise, you will get to glance the snow-capped mountains for the first time from Dhampus.

After breakfast, we will head towards Pothana, which offers a splendid view of Mt. Machhapuchhre and other mountains.

On your way to Landrung you will pass by farmlands, villages and dense forests on your journey. Upon arrival at Landrung will be accommodated at a local teahouse lodge.

Trek to Chomrong

From Landrung, you will trek into the rocky path of mounts; pass through a hamlet, cross over a suspension bridge and then across a dense forest of bamboos.

Your trek will not stop here although we will stop by local teahouses at Jhinu where you can rest and enjoy a drink or snacks.

Afterwards, you will resume your trek to the north, descending to Daaulu. After walking for five hours you will reach Chomrong .

Chomrong is the best place to observe mesmerizing view of Machhapuchhre.

Trek to Himalaya Hotel

Today you will first descend downhill to the river called Chomrong and then hike uphill to Khudi-ghar.

Hiking through dense bamboo forests and along the rhododendron bushes amongst the spectacular landscapes, and the Annapurna Himalaya range, the trail will take you to your final destination of the day, i.e., Himalaya Hotel.

Rest Day

After continuous trek of four days, we rest for the day.

You will spend your entire day taking complete rest, meditating and planning for upcoming trips along with getting habituated to your trekking destinations.

Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp

After breakfast, your day will begin by ascending the route towards Himalaya Hotel (2840m). On your way you will pass by the Hinku cave and have a chance to explore it.

After lunch, you will continue the trail towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp for the night. We will accommodate you to stay where at place where you are able to get closest glimpse of the Machhapuchhre along with Annapurna-I and Gangapurna.

Trek to Annapurna South Base Camp

This day you be descending through a small ridge branching out from the mountain to pass along the mountainside with widespread terraced fields showcasing tranquil meadows and lush fertile farming lands.

As soon as you reach Annapurna South Base Camp, you will witness overwhelming picturesque landscapes, majestic panoramic view of snow-capped mountainous peaks and various Himalayan cultural settings tucked beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna massif.

Trek to Chomrong

After discovering the Annapurna South Base Camp, you will head towards Ghandruk by passing through dense kingdom of Plantae, cultivated lands, and grasslands.

After 5 hours of walk, you will reach Ghandruk where you can capture photos of majestic Himalaya range of Annapurna regions.

Trek to Ghandruk

Today you will trek up to Banthali by walking for 3 – 4 hours.

This trail offers you the similar projections of landscapes explored in your earlier treks i.e. forests, landscapes, and sights of great Himalaya range etc.

You will reach Banthali via Tadapani, which is the best place to glimpse the heavenly sight of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapauchhre, and Dhaulagiri etc.

Trek to Banthanti

Leaving the terraced fields of Ghandruk, we will move towards a path of a steep slope.

As you ascend, you will pass through the dense rhododendron forest to Tadapani which is an ideal vantage point to view heavenly sight of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre.

Then, 3 hours of walk will finally take you to Banthanti.

Trek to Ghorepani

Today, you will proceed ahead to explore the exotic sights of majestic snow-capped Annapurna Himalaya range, forests, scenic landscapes, cultivated fields and rich flora and fauna.

Trek for 3 hours will lead you to Ghorepani, which is considered to be one, of the best tourist spot. Here, you will be accommodated at the local tea-house.

Trek to Nayapul, drive to Pokhara

After enjoying the mesmerizing sights of Dhaulagiri and other popular Annapurna Himalaya range, you will leave Ghorepani and walk towards Nayapul where you will be picked up by vehicle to be transferred to Pokhara.

The drive will take about 1 hour to reach the downtown city.

Drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will be either driven to the Pokhara airport to take a flight to Kathmandu or will be driven to Kathmandu via tourist vehicle.

The entire day in the capital is free for some shopping and relaxation.

Depart from Kathmandu

After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the international airport for your flight home.

You also have the option to to extend your stay in Nepal for shorter trips, such as visits to national parks, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and more. We are always ready to help you plan for these if you would require them.
